Who are we?

The 'Hergé Genootschap' is an association of fans of the oeuvre of Hergé. It is THE association of tintinophiles in The Netherlands and Flanders.

It is our goal to study the works of Hergé, to publish about Hergé and to promote his art. We publish a magazine, a newsletter and - from time to time - a thematic booklet; we organize yearly a Hergé Day and participate in various activities related to Hergé and his creations.

Founded in 1998, the Hergé Genootschap has become an appreciated player in the comics scenes in The Netherlands and Belgium. At the moment, we have some 650 members.

The Hergé Genootschap is an independent association and has good relations with both the Hergé Foundation and Moulinsart, which manage the artistic heritage of Hergé. So, we have access to a large source of data that we like to share with our members.

What kind of activities the Hergé Genootschap arranges?

1. The HG publishes a magazine: 'Duizend Bommen!'. 3 issues a year.
2. The HG publishes a newsletter 'Sapristi!!'. 5 issues a year.
3. The HG has an electronic newsletter 'Potverpillep@p' (see elsewhere on this site), approximately 20 numbers a year.
4. The HG publishes thematic booklets called 'Sapperloot', with varying intervals.
5. We are an association. Once a year, we organize a Hergé Day for our members. Fixed parts of the agenda: exchange mart (only Hergé items), presentations by prominent Tintinologues, our General Assemblée and an auction. When the occasion arises, we arrange special activities and actions.

Do you want to become a member?

There are two types of membership of the Hergé Genootschap:

- full membership: 3 issues of Duizend Bommen!, 5 issues of Sapristi!! and the electronic newsletter for a yearly subscription fee of € 35
-  partial membership: 5 issues of Sapristi!! and the electronic newsletter for a yearly subscription fee of € 11
